The 2025 Global Book Crawl on at indie Australian bookshops this week

The Global Book Crawl began yesterday, and numerous independent bookshops in Australia are taking part. The event, which was established this year, aims to get book lovers across the world, into indie book stores.

In Australia, if crawlers collect enough stamps in a crawl “passport”, they might go on to win a collection of fifty books. Other participating nations include Argentina, Austria, Fiji, Guatemala, Ireland (quite a lot towns involved there), Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, and Switzerland.

Update: an earlier version of this post stated the book crawl had been going for several years. This year, 2025 is in fact when the event was established.
